ABSTRACT

Reflective practice has been mentioned extensively in teacher education practices. Schön’s book (1983) on reflective practice initiated interest in the application of reflective practice in teacher education programs. Universitas Terbuka (UT/Indonesia Open University) offers a teacher education program for primary school teachers in order to improve teachers’ competencies and qualifications. This concept paper aims to review the theoretical and practical application of reflective practice in teacher education, as well as possibilities, constraints, and challenges faced in the application of reflective practice in the Primary Teacher Education Program (PTEP) at UT.
