ABSTRACT

In this chapter, the latest data on the clinical application of frequency-following response (FFR) in the adult and children population, will be presented. The chapter starts with information on central auditory processing and the existing evaluation methods for accessing central auditory disorders. Greater focus is given to electrophysiological assessments and the importance of using verbal sounds within the electrophysiological assessment process. Finally, the technology of FFR will be presented with information on the choice of this terminology, stimuli, maturational process, and types of analysis of the acquired responses.
