ABSTRACT

Given its unique organizational structure and management style in the foodservice industry, it is especially important to understand the impact of managerial behavior on business decisions and strategies. While abundant anecdotal evidence for the managerial influence exists, it is unclear to what extent existing research has progressed toward clarifying this particular issue in the context of foodservice industry. Therefore, by systematically reviewing the extant literature, we aim to identify managerial behavior and decision-making as an important research topic and describe directions for future research in the fields of hospitality and tourism management. In particular, a behavioral finance approach is used to better understand and explore the financial impacts and implications of managerial behavior in the foodservice industry.
