ABSTRACT

Increasing wind power penetration in the existing power system may challenge the controllability aspects of the power system. Virtually the renewable power system has no or very low inertia. Any change in the generation or load will directly impact the change in the system parameter. The control structure plays important role in keeping Wind Turbine in sync with the rest of the power system. In this work the decouple Control of Rotor Side Converter (RSC) and Grid Side Converter (GSC) is discussed. The DFIG response to the grid fault is simulated in ATP program is also discussed.
