ABSTRACT

The applicable range of the calculation formula for the shielding effectiveness of a wire mesh is discussed based on the surface impedance model. On this basis, when the shape of the mesh is parallelogram, the shielding effectiveness of a wire mesh is calculated by using full-wave simulation software, and then the mechanism of the wire mesh is analyzed. According to transmission line theory and the surface impedance of the wire mesh, a double-layer wire mesh is equivalent by the transmission line model. The calculated results are in good agreement with those of full-wave simulation. In addition, the shielding characteristics of a double-layer wire mesh are discussed.
