ABSTRACT

In order to reduce load loss and economic loss of distribution network when struck by typhoon, this paper proposed an identification method of weak links of overhead lines in distribution network based on typhoon scenario simulation. Firstly, the Batts model is used to describe the wind speed and attenuation process after typhoon landing. Then, the failure rates of pole and line are established based on the relationship between wind load and anti-bending strength of the pole. Further, the line vulnerability index is defined considering the line failure frequency and the importance of load. The weight of each factor in the index is determined by analytic hierarchy process. Finally, the identification method of weak links of overhead lines based on Monte Carlo method in distribution network is given. The proposed model is implemented on an IEEE RBTS BUS6 and the results are presented to show that the weak lines determined by the method can be used as the rule for reinforcing concrete poles and distributing emergency generators, which can effectively reduce the load loss and economic loss of the distribution network.
