ABSTRACT

Companies that engage in the manufacturing sector rely on high quality and high employee performance. Employee performance is still an important problem in manufacturing companies, especially at PT. Indorama Synthetics Tbk. Polyester Division in Purwakarta. One of the efforts made by the company to improve employee performance is by improving employee skill. The present study uses descriptive analysis technique and verification. The method of the study is an explanatory survey of 103 respondents, while the data are obtained through the questionnaires. Then the analysis of the study is by using a simple linear regression analysis. The finding of the study indicates that the employees’ work ability is very good, but there are weaknesses in the knowledge dimension. Other findings state that the employees’ performance is very high, especially on the dimensions of ethics and communications. The working ability is influence 70, 3% to employee performance. If the company does not pay attention to the performance, the company will have difficulty to achieve any goals and the productivity of work.
