ABSTRACT

This study examined work–family conflict with antecedent of job involvement, role ambiguity and job demand in moderation by social support. The sample of this study was 134 nurses in private hospitals. Data analysis was done with Smart PLS. The result of this study is job involvement has negative and significant effect to work–family conflict reinforced by social support as moderator. Job demand positively affects work–family conflict but is weakened by social support, while role ambiguity has no significant effect on work–family conflict. The conclusions of this study are that social support from supervisors, colleagues and families can reduce work–family conflict.
