ABSTRACT

The study aims to analyze and synthesize a collaborative-based academic supervision model feasible among principals in Banyumas Regency. This research and development study employed data from the results of academic supervision, need analysis, hypothetical model testing, and model validation. Questionnaires, interviews, documentation studies, observations, and FGDs were used to collect the data. Test validity used model validation from experts and practitioners, and the qualitative descriptive analysis used data display, reduction, verification, and conclusion. The results showed that (1) the factual model of collaborative-based academic supervision model for principals was categorized into good category; (2) hypothetical model of collaborative-based academic supervision model for principals was categorized into very important; and (3) the final model of collaborative-based academic supervision model was feasible. The collaborative-based academic supervision model for principals contributed to the improvement of teachers’ performance. The results concluded that the model is good, but it is not yet optimal. It is more essential, more practical, effective and efficient by emphasizing the steps namely report building, basic determination of collaboration, principles, problem sets, directing settings, participation, team discussions, cooperation, and follow-up. The academic supervision model is feasible to improve teachers’ performance.
