ABSTRACT

This research examined the demographic factor affecting the choice of investment for amateur golfers in Karawang City. This research divides investment into two groups: real asset and financial asset investment. Data in this research was obtained by distributing a questionnaire to employees working in governmental and private offices. The sample was collected using a purposive sampling method. Then the data were analyzed using cross-tabulation and chi-square analysis. The research found that demographic factors influenced the choice of investment among young professionals in Karawang City. Out of the six demographic factors observed, there were five factors that significantly influenced the investment selection. These factors were gender, profession, education, the number of family members and income. However, the one factor that did not influence the investment selection was age.
