ABSTRACT
In this chapter, we focus on the QDs and their applications in LEDs and solar cell devices. Due to emerging growth in populations and the current need of energy for the industries and their adverse effect on the environment due to the use of pollutant technology for the power generation, major worldwide focus is given on the development of nontoxic and energy-efficient products for technological applications. Keeping this in mind, we have discussed the basic science and mechanism of QDs, their types, properties, and their use in enhancing the efficiency of solar cells and LEDs.
