ABSTRACT

The need of increasing world food yield for speedily growing population is well known, for which integrated pest management plays a substantial role in food safety from the hazard caused by the pest. In day-to-day situation, the problems of loss of crop and food productivity are much more unadorned owing to a hasty increase of threat called pests. Therefore, the application of inclusive varieties of pesticides becomes essential to fight the diverse types of pest widespread in the food and agricultural sectors. However, the rapid and continuous use of these conventional pesticides has not only led to significant consequences for the human health sector but also resulted in the decrease of the food quality, resulting in the influential load on the environment and causing ecotoxicity. Thus, the current study describes the alarming issue of food safety and management. The threat caused by the diverse forms of pest is an upsurging issue, which became severe when the uncontrolled application of conventional pesticides was implicated. The uncontrolled application of these toxic conventional pesticides has led to severe problem of ecotoxicity; also, the continuous exposure to these pesticides has led to resistance in the pests. The applicative knowledge of nanotechnology has become a tool to combat these issues through the application of nanopesticides. The higher specificity and ecobenign property make these pesticidal compounds a propitious tool toward confrontation of the problem.
