ABSTRACT

There is a need on the part of man to exist in an organised world, where norms, rules, structures, forms, are constant. However, in this stable and orderly world, there is no room for progress or innovation. It is a static world, where the same processes and models are repeated continuously. Progress and innovation come from confusion, discomfort, imbalance that stimulates the human mind to dream, create and materialise new models, in an eternal pursuit of a balance that is always ephemeral.

We will develop our essay inspired by a few phrases from one of the most iconic books – Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carrol (1832–1898) – where intelligence, creativity and fantasy are so well portrayed.
