ABSTRACT

The safety factor is to consider the many uncertainties in the strength calculation and the strength reserve introduced to ensure the necessary safety of the design structure. The ultimate strength simulation of the titanium alloy spherical pressure hull of large depth submersible is carried out based on the nonlinear FEM (Finite Element Method) in this paper. The optimal characteristic parameters of spherical pressure hull under different safety factors are given according to the analysis of the variation of safety margin with characteristic parameters. And the recommendation of the safety factor is given according to the study of the influence of different parameters on the safety margin of the pressure hull, providing a reference for the design of the titanium alloy spherical pressure hull of the large depth submersible.
