ABSTRACT

The modeling of beef-forage systems has been an on-going activity at the University of Kentucky since 1976. The progess of this effort, as exemplified by two regional research projects involving 25 states, has been the development of several beef and forage models. These models differ somewhat in complexity, purpose and biological orientation. Hence, the objectives of this paper are to:

Present a historical perspective of the modeling effort.

Provide a brief description of all the models.

Provide a more detailed biological description of one particular model.
