ABSTRACT
The CSU model is not original. It is a customized version of the Texas A&M class model developed by Sanders and Cartwright (1979a,b).and described in an earlier paper. Being animal breeders, we originally intended to use the model to evaluate genotypes and generate economic weights for a number of traits. Results of this kind cannot exist independent of management, however, so we have necessarily used the model to evaluate management alternatives as well.
