ABSTRACT

Horses are a little different from the other species of livestock associated with the International Stockmen's School. The purebred horse business is big business. And there are tens of thousands of people in the US that earn a living from horses. Although some equine breed registries have been around for more than 100 years, there is none larger than the American Quarter Horse Association. AQHA records are the key to marketing and promotion of American quarter horses and the people who breed them. Every horse who has started in any AQHA-approved race would have a similar type of master registration record available from AQHA. If someone is considering purchasing a horse, a quick phone call to AQHA can verify any claims made by the seller as to the horse's official records.
