ABSTRACT
The seismic activities that occurred near reservoir region are always seemed to be induced by the construction or the operation of reservoir. The study on temporal and spatial distribution characteristics of seismic activities is considered to play an important role in distinguishing the induced seismic. The seismic activities of Shanxi reservoir region increased significantly since the impoundment in May 12th, 2000. This chapter discusses the double difference method is used to processing the seismic catalogue of Shanxi reservoir to get more accurate seismic parameters. The seismic activities in Shanxi reservoir are closely related to the water level variation. According to our analysis, there are several swarms of earthquake after the impoundment. The spatial distribution of seismic events shows obviously zonal distribution along the strike of main fault f11.
