ABSTRACT

In the present paper, a new higher order shear deformation theory is developed to study the free vibration response of simply supported laminated composite spherical shells. The present theory includes the effects of transverse normal and shear deformations to predict the natural frequencies. The equations of motion are obtained using the Hamilton’s Principle, and solved by using Navier’s technique. The numerical results obtained are compared with previously published results to check the accuracy and efficacy of the present theory.
