ABSTRACT

The extent of advantages of coherent detection and antenna selection schemes depend on accuracy of available Channel State Information (CSI). In this paper, imperfect CSI at receiver (CSIR) is assumed in MIMO with Mt transmit antenna and Mr receive antenna for detection of symbols using receive diversity technique and single transmit antenna selection (TAS). Imperfect CSIR is assumed to be available with error of fixed variance (σ2e) due to presence of channel estimation error. Channels are considered as time selective with correlation coefficient a, frequency non-selective, flat fading and identically distributed using Rayleigh distributions. Therefore, channels change during the feedback of selected transmit antenna index from receiver to transmitter due to finite transmission delay. Time varying channel is characterized by first order autoregressive (AR1) process. We also consider equal spatial correlation (ρ) at receiver and transmitter ends and between any two channels. Performance of Mt xMr MIMO with single TAS and receive diversity technique is evaluated by BER simulations for different antenna configurations under the compound effect of a, ρ, (σ2e) and feedback delay for BPSK.
