ABSTRACT

This article presents the design feature and simulation of a stacked microstrip patch antenna used for IRNSS receiver. Two antennas are sandwiched for the proposed idea; L5 band (1.17GHz) providing a gain of 4.5 dB and S band (2.48GHz) providing 7.66 dB gain for RHCP. The above simulated designs were fabricated, and results obtained were consistent with the simulations. For efficiency at these high frequencies RT/Duroid 5880 with a thickness of 3.175 mm is utilized.
