ABSTRACT

Mungbean (Vigna radiata (L.) Wilczek) commonly known as green gram or golden gram is an extensively grown pulse crop. The yield of mungbean is affected by several biotic and abiotic factors. Among the biotic factors, Powdery mildew, Mungbean yellow mosaic virus, Cercospora leaf spot, anthracnose, dry root rot, leaf crinkle virus, web blight, rust, etc., are of prime importance in reducing crop yield. Destruction of plant debris can minimize the survival habitat of pathogen. Removal and destruction of plant debris and manipulation in dates of sowing may help in reducing the disease incidence. Removed collateral weed hosts around the field and rogue out the diseased plants could reduce the chance of further spread and reduced production of more infected seed.
