ABSTRACT

The concept of Digital Afterlife is examined, and research into the impact it may have on relations, friends, colleagues, and institutions is explored. An overview of the various types of Digital Afterlife is presented, and we argue that a greater clarity around the use of terminology is needed. The use of different media to support, create, and maintain Digital Afterlife is presented and critiqued. The final section of the chapter raises challenging issues that are explored across the book as a whole.
