ABSTRACT

Telephone communication technology is still used everywhere. In a company, having a telephone is a must to facilitate communication with outside parties. Telephone communication technology has developed into a device with better connectivity and voice clarity known as Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP). In using VoIP, a special device is needed for VoIP services using a computer network. A Briker server can bridge between VoIP data and a traditional phone line. In exchanging information, Briker server and network topology have limits on how much data traffic can flow. In this study, Briker’s server was tested for its ability to provide VoIP services in a virtual local area network (VLAN). Mathematically, VoIP data traffic in this network can be calculated, so that it can be used to conclude whether the Briker server can handle this VoIP traffic.
