ABSTRACT

Research has aimed to describe the resilience of adolescents infected with HIV/AIDS. The subjects in this study are teenagers positively infected with HIV/AIDS, who are undergoing ARV treatment, and who are willing to be the subject of research. Informants who supported this study were volunteers and leaders of shelter houses where the subjects resided. The method used in this study was a qualitative research method with a case study approach. Subject and informant data was collected through structured interviews, and the analysis technique used source triangulation by comparing the analysis of subject data with research informants. The results of this study are that subject has a high level of resilience. The aspects I Have includes support and attention from other people; the subject prioritizes pleasure and comfort, has role models, has the drive to be independent, and has experienced health discrimination, has received a good education and The factor I Am includes having an attractive attitude, expressing affection through actions, and caring. The subject refrains from transmitting HIV/AIDS, is independent and responsible, proud of herself, and will stay healthy, have life expectancies and be sure to achieve them. The aspects I Can includes being able to express what is felt and thought, to solve problems, to control emotions, and build good relations with others. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the subject has good resilience and has been able to accept h condition.
