ABSTRACT

Economic development is an important instrument in driving the dynamics of the Indonesian national economy. In its industrial development policy, the Indonesian nation has a commitment to developing its industrial sector as an important part of the constellation of national development. Industrial development is directed towards the independence of the national economy, increasing competitiveness, and increasing market share at home and abroad by always protecting the environment. In order to carry out sustainable national development, industry players should not neglect government policy in the form of a set of legal regulations aimed at preserving environmental functions, such as Law Number 32 of 2009 concerning Environmental Protection and Management, Law Number 3 of 2014 concerning Industry, Government Regulation Number 27 of 2012 concerning Environmental Permits, Government Regulation Number 107 of 2015 concerning Industrial Business Licenses, and other legal regulations. There is an obligation towards the adherence of small industry actors to environmental propositions and the rule of law as an instrument for preventing pollution that is a result of industrial activities.
