ABSTRACT

This study aimed to reconstruct the definition of the majority and minority relationship from Jurgen Habermas’ perspective, which is always seen from the aspect of dominat and being dominated. What has strongly shown up in this study is that communication becomes a praxis that can make every single subject involved in the agenda for social change. It elucidates that both majority or minority people must realize that they are part of human society and whatever the interest, perspective, or status, they must live in a social community. This can be accomplished by constructing many experiences of communication without any domination, monopoly, arrogance, intimidation, subjectivity, and exclusivity in a public sphere.
