ABSTRACT

Supervision is one of the tools used by the government to enforce legislation. As a juridical instrument, supervision functions to test the effectiveness of the law. In the field of environmental protection and management, policies have been rolled out at the central and regional levels, which also regulate the supervision of environmental permits. This article reviews the environmental permit supervision that is applied based on community involvement in Indonesia. Monitoring of environmental permits based on community involvement is very necessary to be carried out so that activities that affect the environment, especially those that cause environmental damage and pollution, can be anticipated as early as possible. Community involvement since the process of submitting an environmental permit application is the first step that can be taken in the context of environmental permit supervision.
