ABSTRACT
This chapter provides an overview of the main characteristics of vehicular networks and focuses on mobility management protocols. It presents an introduction to the concept of Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) and its architecture and main components. The chapter describes the real vehicular network implementing the automotive environment used for experimentation and validation. The high mobility and increasing velocity of the vehicles make the mobility management a crucial topic in Vehicular ad hoc Networks. The good operation of the solution was checked using both the Grafana web interface and the Android app. It is important to bear in mind that cache hits will increase as the number of requests is higher, given that the number of services or final users accessing a particular vehicle could be high. Security monitoring of mobile objects using mobile networks is not a new concept and there are plenty of solutions, even in the scope of fleet management.
