ABSTRACT

Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) are one of the fundamental bodies of the smart cities comprising resources, assets, activities and transportation networks. ITS aim to provide better services for all consumers and beneficiaries in all aspects including safety, traffic efficiency, cost, sustainability and ecology. The provision of situational awareness is essential in autonomous vehicles and smart city and smart transportation-related applications. The market forecasts on autonomous driving and connected cars highlight the importance of connectivity and the service availability for successful penetration in the market. The base station collects the data requests demanded from the vehicles and schedules these data requests according to some key parameters. In the centralized system, the amount of workload on the access nodes will be calculated by the cloud/center using the information sent from the access nodes. One of the major problems in distributed methods is that multiple base stations transfer workloads to the same base station at the same time.
