ABSTRACT

Single-cell sequencing is an emerging field in diverse areas of science and has made impactful progress in recent times, resulting in greater appreciation and understanding of the many pathophysiological processes, like foodborne disease, that affect human health. Based on the need to gain insights into the complex and diverse microbial ecosystem, great advances in culture-independent methods by genome sequencing technologies has evolved to bring about solutions. Therefore, this chapter intends to give proper insights on some recent advances in single cell sequencing of microbial species.
