ABSTRACT
The purpose of this paper is to give a survey of some recent work on the unit group U(Z G) of the integral group ring Z G of a finite group G. There are two main topics we deal with. The first one is to investigate structure theorems and the second is to explicitly describe finitely many generators for a subgroup of finite index in the unit group. For earlier work on these two topics we refer to Sehgal's two books [91, 93], and for related work on units of integral group rings we refer to [53, 54, 89].
