ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the parallelizing adaptive algorithms for multiple integrals and report on how successful the software that has implemented some of the methods has been, in terms of high processor utilization without loss of accuracy. It deals with a general description of adaptive algorithms for multiple integrals. The number of integrals needed and the difficulty of the integrals will determine the scale of the computation. It deals with a general description of adaptive algorithms for multiple integrals. Parallelization at this level may be appropriate in large scale calculations where a number of integrals need to be computed. It is most appropriate in cases where the integration region is different for each integral or the integrands differ enough to result in significantly different subdivisions of a common integration region for each integral. The globally adaptive algorithm has also been parallelized at the basic rule level.
