ABSTRACT

In the design of bridge structures, the problems of current vehicle load and durability degradation are different from the effects of common extreme disasters, which can be prevented by particular facilities or specified design approaches. With the more precise data on vehicle load and chloride ingress, the detailed design of bridge cross sections should be discussed further, and the corresponding multi-hazard study is significant. In the multi-hazard researches on bridges, the durability problem gains more attentions, especially the structural performance degradation caused by chloride ingress. In this paper, a novel evaluation method is proposed by combining the mesoscopic cellular automata and the rand vehicle distribution. According to the girder cross-section layout of cable-stayed bridge, the detailed model modifications of box girder are simulated and presented.
