ABSTRACT
Cables are the key support components of cable-bearing bridges, and under the long-term effects of live load and atmospheric corrosion environment, the cable system must be reliably protected to ensure the structural safety of bridges and cable systems. In this paper, in view of the problems existing in the current protection system for parallel wire cables and combining the actual requirements of engineering, the protection systems for the main cable of suspension bridges and the stay cable of cable-stayed bridges are studied. Meanwhile, the goal of achieving the same service life for the cable system and the bridge structure during the life cycle is looked forward to.
