ABSTRACT

With the emerging of super large-scale concrete member in structure design, the anchorage, pile caps, piers, 0# segment of box girder, and the construction of bridge tower are all involved in mass concrete construction. In this paper, a case study on the anchorage foundation of a suspension bridge with a 700 m main-span is conducted. The time-dependent process of temperature field and stress field of mass concrete at the anchorage foundation is analyzed in detail using FE simulation, and the casting timing of post-casting zone of anchorage foundation is concluded. Based on the simulation result of the concrete construction temperature, the following conclusions can be drawn: 1) For each layer of concrete, the inner average temperature of the cross-section can be controlled under 30∘C about 60 days after finish casting. 2) At the 60th day after the casting of each layer of concrete, the effect of daily temperature difference on the inner temperature of concrete has been greater than the effect of initial hydration heat, which means the inner temperature has been basically steady and the casting for post-casting zones can be conducted.
