ABSTRACT

An increasing number of managers of public space and infrastructure in the Netherlands are currently trying to implement asset management ideas and practices. Particularly smaller organizations such as local municipalities find it difficult to evaluate how to do this properly. For this reason the internet portal iAMPro, short for ‘infrastructure Asset Management for Professionals’, was developed. It was launched in 2015 in order to exchange ideas and experiences about asset management in public space and infrastructure. The iAMPro philosophy is based on a process of six steps for managing assets (referred to as the Rose), consistent with the Deming circle. It provides practical instructions on how to implement the ISO 55000 for managing public spaces and infrastructure. In addition a Community of Practice has been initiated.
