ABSTRACT

Aiming at the problem that the concrete in the negative flexural moment region of the continuous composite girder is susceptible to cracking, a new idea of combining the continuous composite girder is proposed. The shear studs attached with a low elastic modulus rubber were used to decrease their shear stiffness without changing their shear strength, thus achieving the partial connection effect of the steel in the negative flexural moment zone. To study the mechanical behavior of this new type partially-combined continuous composite girder, the test model of the continuous composite girder (the span combination is 13.33m+10.86m) with a scale ratio of 1:3 was designed based on a continuous composite girder project under construction. And the static load carrying capacity test of 4 points was carried out.
