ABSTRACT
Water wave scattering by obstacles involving floating and submerged bodies of various geometrical shapes forms an extremely important class of problems in the linearized theory of water waves. When a train of surface water waves is incident on an obstacle, it is partially transmitted and partially reflected by the bodies. Evaluation of the reflection and transmission coefficients is the most important task for these problems.
