ABSTRACT

We call “Traceability of contemporary building culture”, to a methodology proposal for documenting the process of design and construction of a group of recent architectural works, that identifies a series of cultural identity factors, such as who builds, where do material come from, how long does it take incorporate them on site, that define a culture heritage. while the initial tool is used to aid our decision making as architects by facilitating the better comprehension of these factors, later on by encouraging greater consideration of the material, economical and human resources, within the vicinity of the project site, renders it implications within the building culture embodied in the process. Conclusions show that the idea of traceability is a tool to document during the design and construction stages implications like actors involved, the materials used and their origin, that is contemporarily part of the building culture as a key to the future heritage material and immaterial consideration.
