ABSTRACT

National Schools of Arts (Cubanacan, La Habana, Cuba) was designed between 1961-1965 in order to create a whole space to study Art. The vulnerability of three domes and the first segment of the main corridor at Faculty of Visual Arts were studied according to the methodology developed by Ortiz and Ortiz (2016). The vulnerability indexes were calculated based on a Leopold matrix that depends on intrinsic variables and the life of the monuments. A Delphi survey was carried out by Cuban experts, to determine the influence of variables on the vulnerability. According to this survey, roofs, structure, and foundations are the variables that greatly influence on the building vulnerability. The result reproduces human reasoning to study relations between vulnerability factors, risk factors and state of conservation of the contemporary monuments. This study has allowed validating the methodology for new designs and contemporary materials as those that were used in this monument.
