ABSTRACT

Integrated Pest Management is the preferred method used throughout the world. Until relatively recently, the integrated approach to pest control was accepted temporarily by growers at times of a crisis of pest tolerance to insecticides, to be abandoned just as soon as a new and effective pesticide was marketed. However, IPM is now being introduced even where there is not a current crisis; at long last the message seems to have sunk in, that it is a way of preventing pesticide crises in the first place.
