ABSTRACT

Aesthetic Gynecology is a modern and rapidly developing medical field, with increasing interest both from patients and from doctors. It comprises surgical and non-surgical treatments focusing on improving aesthetic aspects, anatomical defects and genital functionality, having at the centre the quality of life of women, including physical and psychological well-being.

Even if it is a recent speciality, we present that most Aesthetic Gynecology techniques had been used for many years and are safe and efficacious. We made an international speciality literature review and present the history of interest in improving genital appearance, the most demanded Aesthetic Gynecology procedures by international statistics by years, and discuss how vaginal rejuvenation techniques developed in time: surgery, PRP, botox, fat grafting, lasers, radiofrequency, HIFU, HIFEM, and stem cells. Aesthetic Gynecology is a complex field, and doctors who want to be part of this speciality should have knowledge about all the procedures available, their indications, their mode of action and their limitations.
