ABSTRACT

One of the most common surgical interventions in the vaginal canal is the anterior–posterior repair, often called “colporrhaphy”. This chapter describes a new technique to perform perineo-vaginoplasty with a single barbered thread. The technique aims to tighten the entire vaginal canal and repair the perineal body in a much less invasive way. The physical examination is the first step to determining the patient's needs. The visual and physical examination entails a classical gynecology assessment. To perform a single thread vagino-perineoplasty, the surgeon must have prepared the surgery table well. The transvaginal approach to a pudendal nerve block is common for obstetric and gynecological procedures. The female patient is placed in the lithotomy position, and the vaginal area is prepped. The surgical wound has been closed without locking the suture, minimizing the possibility of necrotic and fibrotic tissues.
