ABSTRACT
Phase change materials (PCMs) have been used for a long time in the thermal energy storage applications. On the acquaintance of its broader thermal stability, resistivity, and non-corrosiveness, its widespread usage in buildings, solar PVT, solar cooker, solar air and water heating systems, and the solar greenhouse, it is acknowledged all over. PCMs in medical science are still largely unexplored. Biomedical engineers are in perpetual search for materials that can deliver temperature stability and low-temperature fluctuations to medical products. This chapter offers applications of PCMs in the biomedical industry, opening new gateways to research and innovation.
