ABSTRACT

Engine Pollution Monitoring and Traffic Sign Recognition provides a platform to assist an average person in the day-to-day minor car crashes and improve the overall driving ecstasy. This also helps in identifying emergency engine Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) that can deal with mini vehicular repair experience, reducing the dependency on a mechanic for minor troubles in the engine. This application also offers a variety of tools that make this a brilliant system for car infotainment. A vehicle diagnostic program with a slight touch of the entertainment system is designed in this research. This research is in line with the standard On-Board Diagnostics-II (OBD-II) protocols that enable any vehicles, recognized by OBD-II, to work on. This application also provides other useful data that can be used to determine a profile of its driving habits for each driver. The research provides a cloud data storage feature that allows users to track and update their vehicle activities. An integral part of the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) is a traffic sign detection and recognition. Traffic signs provide information on traffic rules, road conditions, and route directions and help drivers to drive safely. Detection and recognition of traffic signs system have two main stages: the first stage involves localization of traffic signs and second stage classifies detected traffic signs into a specific class. A review of existing detection methods such as color-based detection, form-based detection, and learning-based detection will be presented.
