ABSTRACT
Rope & Net assisted papaya plucker is a simple device to: (i) detach or pluck papaya even from tall trees by extending the pole length using coupling, without damaging the fruit(s), (ii) hold the papaya in a netted basket with a tilting mechanism, helps in holding the papaya closer to the pole which reduces the load arm and the corresponding moment due to load helps to prevents bending of lean poles and then (iii) lower it safely to the ground in a controlled manner with a rope and pulley system. The prototype of the machine is designed, fabricated and tested successfully.
