ABSTRACT

Recycled High Density Polyethylene is reinforced with carbon black, coir pith and glass fiber in various compositions to enhance its reusability. HDPE is well known for its high strength to density ratio, hardness, rigidity, high ductility and impact strength. Mechanical properties such as contact angle, tensile strength and hardness of the composites are tested and the results are analyzed. Different techniques are employed for the fabrication of composites which includes mixing in the Hakke mixer, hot compression moulding and specimen testing in appropriate machines. Due to the change in properties, various applications can be developed and improved in various engineering fields.
