ABSTRACT

The story of EIT so far: we have a conductive body with interesting tissue properties (chapter 3) and have put electrodes on it used an EIT system (chapter 4) to make measurements. Next, we built a model (chapter 5) of the body, electrodes and the stimulation and measurement patterns, which allows us to understand and predict our measurements; this is the forward model. In this chapter, we reconstruct images of the volumetric distribution of tissue properties, the inverse problem (see Box 6.8). For a more mathematical treatment, see [ 22 ].
