ABSTRACT

In this chapter a short description of krill herd optimization algorithm (KH) is presented. Next, some modifications of KH such as chaotic KH, levy-flight KH, multi-stage KH, stud KH, fuzzy KH, and binary-based KH are discussed. Finally, an application of KH to one of the real-world problems is addressed. To this end, the application of KH to the optimum design of shallow foundations as one of the most complicated geotechnical engineering problems is demonstrated.
